Egg Cartons
Knife, scissors
Old christmas tree lights
Something to color cartons (I originally used paint, which took way too long.) Hint, Hint!! I then found that I could dip the egg carton flower in fabric dye, let dry, and had a perfectly colored flower in seconds. I hope to try out some plant-based dyes in the future. If anyone tries that, please let me know.
Single hole punch tool (you could also just use a pen or other sharp object, I suppose)
1.) Cut egg carton up to form flower shape, see below.
2.) Glue egg carton flowers together for a flower with more petals.
3.) Dip in dye or paint.
4.) Punch a hole through the center of the flower and put over the light bulbs.
Voila, beautiful lights to hang around your bedroom, Christmas tree (wouldn't it be cool to do red flowers?!), or outdoor eating area for a summer night dinner party.
